On the loom
I’m experimenting with a longer warp, which I have avoided in future because I have this idea in my head that my tension will go haywire if my warp is too long … but hey, it’s all good, and I’m on scarf number three! I’m also experimenting with what colours are popular (which is always hard when I’m not into fashion :P), so I just go with what sells - so on this warp are Sage Green, Dusty Pink and you can see here an Emerald Geometric (which I have never made before) - so lush!I think scarf number 4...
New Stockist - Gallery M
Yay, I have a new stockist! Stockists are important to me, as I know that people connect with my work more in real life rather than from pictures - you just want to touch them! You can find a curated range of scarves, plant holders and scrunchies at the Gallery M shop :)Gallery M is next to Marion Shopping Centre at Oaklands Park, and has a wide range of handmade products. It also has a gorgeous big gallery space, so while you’re shopping, you can also check out the beautiful exhibition. And during the week there is a coffee shop next...
Handwoven Cravat Scarves
So … I don’t know much about fashion ;)I have my own style, and I like to wear what feels good to me, and what makes me feel like my best self. Are you the same? But guess what? It seems that my Cravat style scarves are pretty ‘fashionable’ at the moment! Or maybe I should just call them my ‘best sellers’? Usually the Classic scarves are my top sellers, but this year has been different! So a heads up, my lovely friends - I only have Cravats in stock at Fleurieu Arthouse at the moment, so head over to McLaren Vale to...
What colour scarf is best for me?
Common question: ‘What colour should I choose?’My usual answer - what do you wear most often? Firstly - are you a cool colour or warm colour person?I am a cool colour person, and my go-to colours are hot pink, purple, emerald green and royal blue. You will very rarely find me in any other colours, and usually I wear these as accents with my basic black.Take a look inside your wardrobe - do you have any dominant colours? If you don’t like your current wardrobe and want to add some ‘spice’ - what colours make you feel good? Are you one...
Handwoven Blue Fairy Bread Cravat
Hey, it’s a Blue Fairy Bread Cravat! If you prefer the shorter length of scarf (which I call the ‘Cravat’), then you are in luck! I made a few more for the Bowerbird Design Market, but I’ll be happy to sell them beforehand :DI sew the Cravat in a loop with a twist, so they sit well under a jacket, or with a jumper. It gives a bit of warmth without being too chunky :)You can find them on my website - and don’t forget you can avoid postage by picking up from Collective Haunt, or at the Bowerbird Design Market!
