‘Theatre Of The Grotesque No. 1’Hand woven tapestry This was the first in my Theatre Of The Grotesque series, in which I explore my childhood trauma through a series of vintage illustrations/photos - this one is from a cataract operation from the 19th century :O In this first piece I didn’t use text, as at the time I thought using text was far too obvious … though, to be honest, this means my messaging was way too vague. PSA for my candle friends - BUY AN OIL / WAX MELT BURNER! It’s so great to scrape out the wax from ‘finished’ candles and burn them here - they last so much longer! I should time them, but this small amount of wax has lasted around 20 hours so far … it’s crazy! (on top of a candle that burned for 40 hours already). In these economic times, I don’t want to give up my luxuries … but also, it’s great to get so much out of them! How about you - have you tried this? Of course, you...
