Weave with me!

Well, hello there Bertha! It’s been a while since I’ve worked on this tapestry … winter is a busy time, with Bowerbird, restocking my suppliers, and generally being a great time of year for lovely scarves! :D But now I’m back to balancing my tapestry with my handweaving, and this long weekend has been all about swapping between them, as well as some candle making! In fact, the theme of June for me is BALANCE … how about you, are you good at balance?
Weaving more Liquorice Allsorts scarves!

And we’re away!You saw the loom setup, next is the actual weaving process …I’m making a warp full of Liquorice Allsorts scarves, so it’s a lot of fun changing colours every now and then, and making colour decisions as I go. Queeriosities in The Haunting exhibition

Dressing the loom ...

‘Dressing the loom’ before I can even start weaving!What does that mean? Well, it’s just putting the warp onto the loom.And when I say ‘putting’, I mean:- sleying the reed- threading the heddles- winding the warp onto the back beam- tying the front of the warp onto the front beam- tying up the treadlesAnd then away we go!
